It starts with our younger kids learning the fundamentals the right way.
It grows with middle school athletes learning how to compete.
And by the time they reach varsity, it should already be part of who they are.
Our season ended on a buzzer-beater against Lone Grove. It’s a tough way for it to end, but this team gave our community something to be proud of all year.
Not many people believed in this group outside our locker room but these young women believed in each other. They showed it every night on the way to a 21–7 season built on toughness, defense, and heart.
Thank you to the Madill community for showing up, being loud, and supporting these girls all season long. It means more than you know.
And to our seniors thank you for the leadership, the fight, and the example you set for the ones coming behind you. Your impact on this program will last.
I am proud of this team. Proud of this community. Proud to be a Wildcat.
Some players are known for their points.
Some for their highlights.
But athletes like Allyson Coles are known for something far greater -her heart.
After two major knee surgeries, most would have given up. Allyson didn’t.
She fought. She rebuilt. And now, in her senior season, she’s stepping back on the court with more strength, grit, and purpose than ever before.
Her story is a reminder to every athlete battling injury or doubt:
Your comeback can be stronger than the setback.
Proud of her. Inspired by her.
Madill is lucky to have her.
Funny thing—last time I was a head coach, I ended up being part of a book called Nothing Ruins Youth Sports Like Adults. I didn’t realize it then, but those tough moments ended up changing me. Now that I’m coaching again here in Madill, I’m coming in with a clearer purpose: create the kind of environment I wish every young athlete could experience.

Arlette Andrade isn’t the loudest player on the court, but her presence is impossible to miss. Over the past offseason, she transformed her game piece by piece—adding confidence, sharpening skills, and embracing a leadership role that her teammates naturally follow. She’s become the glue of the Madill Lady Wildcats: dependable, hardworking, and quietly fierce on both ends of the floor. Arlette’s growth is a reminder that greatness doesn’t always arrive with noise; sometimes it’s built through consistent effort, day after day, until everyone around you can’t help but take notice.
Read MoreCoaching has shown me that the game doesn’t just connect us inside our own gyms—it ties together entire communities. This offseason, I’ve had the chance to work with athletes from different schools, each with their own story and goals. I don’t see rival jerseys; I see kids hungry to grow. Watching them rediscover their love for the game or push themselves to new levels reminds me why I love what I do. For me, it’s never just about basketball—it’s about people, progress, and pouring into a community bigger than myself.
Read MoreCoaching isn’t just about games—it’s about people. It’s about the moments that stick, like the graduation card I got recently from a former player who wrote, “I couldn’t have done it without you.” That’s the power of the bond. That’s what lasts long after the scoreboard shuts off.
Read MoreAs the Wildcats look to bounce back from a tough season, Ryan Anderson will be at the center of it all. His presence brings a level of confidence to the court—a feeling that no matter the matchup, Madill has a competitor who’s ready to go to battle.
And he’s only a junior.
The best part? His story is still being written.
